Looking for: Bike parts and hitchhikers heading east

My friend Stanislav is driving back from Amsterdam to Latvia this week, and he has some extra space in his van.

He'd love to fill up the van (that says "hitchhiker's friendly") with hitchhikers and bicycle parts.

So if you know someone heading east or if you can give them some bike parts. He's totally into freak bikes, and he's living in a house where they also are setting up a free bicycle work shop.

Largescale Hitchhiking on San Francisco Bay. sort of.

I just heard about a largescale hitchhiking-ish movement in the Bay area, called "Casual Carpool." Named something of which Americans won't be terrified (because hitchhiking is scary), Casual Carpool is a great way to miss the $7.50 (minimum) round-trip charge to get across the bay into San Francisco.

lightfoot amsterdam - berlin

Dear casa people,
last friday i hh-ed to berlin and found out today that i forgot my shaving case (like the grey thingy in the picture) in the cave if im correct. Could some1 try to find it, put the extra razorblades on the back in a envelope and put it in the lightfoot box, so some1 can lightfoot it to berlin and send me a mail to meet somewhere? (or put my email name on the envelope, since im constantly changing my cs-adress)

discrimination poster

Could someone please photograph and post or send a digital copy of the poster that is (or at least was) hanging in the bathroom? It talks about discrimination and "they" and says something to the effect of "we are 'they' to them."

Thanks all,
Love,
~George

Lets face it. Amsterdam is made out of mainly boring people. If you live here, maybe you have found it harder than in other cities, to meet cool people. Well, there is a group of people who protest against it. I don't necessarily add to the way they do it, but at least they do it, and I will join on the 30th, even if it is more of a political protest.
I hope to see you there!

It is almost 4 AM and while reasonable people would be heading off to bed, this is a life style which inspires “unreasonable” behavior. Some vignettes:

New nomad base in France (Lyon): Casa bonita

I was delaying the post to the time I had a functional community website. It is now the case so here it goes:

To those of you that didn't know, there is a nomad base in Lyon at Julien and Elsy's place. It is quite different from CasaRobino due to various factors, but hopefully you'll feel right at home if you come.

After much debate, we called it "Casa Bonita" that has quite some cultural significance to us that outbalance the fact that all the non-hyphenated domains for it were taken and it sounds just too much like "CasaRobino".

You have to log in again

In order to avoid downtime of this website (and others) I just ALTERed some MySQL TABLEs to use InnoDB. I also cleaned up some other TABLEs, such as the session table. So you will have to create a new session - or in normalpeoplespeak: log in again to this website.

[added by Julien]: you don't have to create an account again. Just log in with your usual username and password.

The bloodclots will get you in the end,

Dear all,
This is a question and a problem I've had for some time now, that I've shared with quite a few of you but have never really received an answer, or that which I've been looking for.

I need to be self reliant in terms of money. For a while, I lived from kindness and occasional jobs here and there, but this reliance on others became exhausting and the power of it (waiting for another to give) becomes something that eats away at the spirit.
