Letter to Casa

I'm still on the road.

Someone would call it "camino". For me is just life. Here in there. Walking by foot or hitching a car. Living with what people have to offer. Sleeping sometimes in churces, sometimes in homeless shelters, sometimes in people's houses. Eating what i find and what people want to offer.

Finding the magic everywhere. Living this life a treasure hunt.
I'm trying to be in the present as much as I can.

This road brough me joy, sadness, forgiving, teaching.

This road makes my feet heavy, my heart full, my mind empty.

Cave Man Charlie in distress!

Casa Family,

Charlie, our beautiful biking cave man, has had a bicycle accident in
Alexandria, Egypt, while on his round the world tour. He has broken his
hip, and is having surgery as I type this. The surgery should all go fine,
and he will be on the road to recovery very soon... but there's another 3
months of resting downtime for him...

Im sure we can all imagine how it must feel to be alone in a strange
hospital, unable to get around - and you all know how hard it will be for
him to have to stay off the bike for so long...

New nomad base open in Romania

(Robino has been so kind to let me post this announcement here in a friendly attempt to steal some of his community.)

For five years now I've dreamed of renting a large flat in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and turning it into a nomad base. I've finally succeeded, and the place that I've decided to call the Cluj Caravanserai is now open to all nomadic travelers who want to come and discover this wonderful part of the world. The house is a bit empty and the first guests may have to overcome a few small challenges, but you'll be warmly welcome.

ecological versus un-sustainable products

A vision into the point of buying ecological products versus cheap products:

There's a tendency around the casa that we're not supposed to be buying the cheap products, but ecological (and more expensive) products,my finest example about this point ;)

Life happens when you make no plans

The spaceship called Terra Mar that took us allowed me some time to connect to the internet, while Valentina is having her second lesson in surfing waves.

So I made it to 'Somewhere in Portugal' on the 6th of August, at exactly the right time. But life took me by surprise and my somewhere was somewhere else than the official 6-8-10 hitchgathering. There wasn't anything I could have done about that. Things are the way they are.

My driver's heart stopped. We are both fine.

I hitched several modes of transport during my time in Croatia: a rusty tractor, a Tito era car without numberplates, a Cadillac with NYC number plates, a leather seat Mercedes, a little fishing boat, a couple of scooters and an old tourist ship.

Random Routes along the North coast of Spain

I heard many people are already in Lisbon, while others are still on the road. But I have been hitching the whole day.

I started before sunrise, with the thumb and sometimes a sign. No petrol station were taken. It was wonderful. The first tumbs up in the morning was a direct hit. Another two times I had to wait an hour or more. But who cares when you have time, and you get your photo taken by a police-officer?

Note to all Casa People

we saw them pee

The Berlin crowd made cardboard film gear 2 weeks ago and interviewed peeing people all over the Roskilde Festival with it. Now I'm glad to present the video of what happened that is a prove of a self organised and radically spontanious art project. We can make things!!!!
