hitchhiking a boat across an ocean

We arrived in Gibraltar after most of the boats had already left for the Canaries. I'd been hitchhiking back and forth the Western Europe - Istanbul route several times before I could possibly think of setting foot at sea. So, we wound up here in mid-November, unaware of the weather that would be underway (which is to say: "the worst weather possible"). We spent several weeks here, like a small handful of the boats- stranded- camping in an undersized tent in some polluted beachside ruins of an economically-depressed town through some of the worst storms I've ever weathered.

Casa Christmas

The Christmas is comming. And you can clearly feel it the Casa's air.

Therefore, I want to ask you all, Casa people, for cooperation in fullfilling Robino's Christmas wish. He was so nice to us for last 2,5 year constantly hosting/guesting us... I think he really deserves a nice gift.

Oil and Water

Greetings, Casa people.
I wanted to write something short about going back to Israel through Egypt, but then it kept getting longer. It may feel shorter if read fast…
-----

It's night and I'm somewhere in the desert outside of a small town in Sinai.
I fell asleep during the bus ride and woke up in its last stop, not sure where I am at and why I haven’t been waken up earlier at a check point (the previous 100km ride evolved 3 police check points). I've been averaging about 2 hours of sleep per night for the past 3 nights, I guess I got tired.

My dramatic goodbye/see ya later to Casa.

So in the overwhelming emotional tornado that hit me a few days before I left I forgot to leave my farewell to all of you in the book. I tried to explain how I felt to Robin Heather and Marc at the Vrouw but we were drunk of course, so I want to give everyone a proper thank you and goodbye message.Let's make it a dramatic goodbye why don't we. We all know how I love those... so here we go.

Free Tea and Post

Just made it to Madison, after a journey down the west coast in the Free Tea Bus, Edna. My friend Guisepi serves free tea out of his school bus wherever he happens to be, and lives in it too. We decided to combine powers and do free tea and letter writing. Had some great participation, everyone writing letters and sipping hot liquids on winter evenings in Washington, Oregon and California. Lots of fun!

Lightfoot Boxes in the Bay Area

Howdy folks,

So there are more lightfoot boxes popping up every day! A new one was set up in Palo Alto, California, at the Ithaka community house, where Bobby lives... and recently one in Berkeley, at another community house. Here's some pictures of my friend Guisepi and I making the box for Berkeley out of a shopping basket - just what we found on the street.

Love to you!

Bring tea!

We are slowly running out of our tea-supplies. We have numerous beautiful jars with special tea-labels, and a whole empty shelf for these tea-pots. So if you are coming by, and you're a tea-lover too, then you know what to do :)

NewBike needs a name. What would you call it? Vote!

I got the following suggestions:

Pyjamas
- because it's stripy and comfortable

Non-Bee Bike
- because I used to have black and yellow bikes and they were called BeeBike 1 and BeeBike 2, and this bike looks similar but not the same.

Wasp
- same reason, black and orange stripes, maybe it looks dangerous too?
