dear dumpster fairy

I've just moved to a place to be called home, and whereas basic furniture is there, I'm missing things to make it feel like a home. Here's a little wish list for the dumpster fairy (and hopefully her little helpers over at the casa ;)

* kitchenware: pan, pot, tray, oven mittens, glasses, mugs, plates, knives and so on
* lights: standalone lamps for ambiance, lamps you can attach on shelves etc, desk lights, reading lights
* zula creation: mattress, blankets (!!!), (just some more) pillows, some nice fabrics

TEA POT!

So I am totally willing to donate a teapot to the casa, I just need to hitch the 90 minute ride down-canyon into the nearest town....

Is there anywhere IN the Netherlands where I can pick up one online and have it sent? Just in the interests of time...

Anyone?

Website should be more fixed now

Managed to fix a bug and now the website is back running almost normally, but we lost a few frontpage stories. They are still in the casa but not promoted to the frontpage anymore so lets fill it up!

Happy Birthday

Dear Casa,
I've been turning 26 in some parts of the world while dumpstering organic BabyCakes in Lower East Side. It was then when I got a magical phone call wishing me a Happy Birthday and even thought my hand was in the process of loosing all feeling in the snowy wind, I couldn't stop talking and I realized how grateful I am for the people I know and the gifts you've been sharing with me.

Late, but maybe not to late New Years Resolutions

Late, but hopefully not to late Geert Lovink is sharing his "[http://networkcultures.org/wpmu/geert/2009/01/27/seven-resolutions-for-2009/ Seven Resolutions for 2009]" - nice food for the brain. His works are recommended anyway.

Migrobirdo's Vision

"Everybody has the right to dream, to have visions and to speak about them."

Here at the house we did not know about Migrobirdo before, until we got news of last week's events. So let's share some more information about this project. Migrobordo's idea was born in Tübingen, Germany. The idea was to set sail to South America to "create connections between people who are politically and artistically active, subsistence farmers and social institutions."

In addition, the crew-members wanted to hold seminars, perform street entertainment sessions and to invite guests onto the boat, called Der Taube (The Pigeon). In doing this, the crew advocated radical skill-sharing: "Everybody is pupil and teacher at the same time. Equality and openness are most important."

Aris, so long

"I am really happy to leave this terrible weather and go far away." -- Aris in the offline guestbook, 22nd of November.

Aris in QuiberonAris in Quiberon

Aris. We can still see her sitting on the back-porch, smiling, overwhelming everyone with her smile. Full of joy and perception. She understood the art of perceiving, of traveling; the art of hitchhiking and the art of balancing. Aris was a wonderful young girl with an amazing potential. She was very remarkable with a great sense of direction, depth, and dedication.

Populatechnolog and Decree.

It was the Wright brothers, those enterprising Ohio bike dudes of history, that discovered a way to keep airplanes in flight. They believed that flight technology would make wars of attrition obsolete - a noble scientific aim. But the inventor of dynamite, the inventor of the machine gun; they too believed the same thing of their own never-before-seen technological accomplishments. High hopes for the cutting-edge geniuses of our progress-hungry society.

Hey, that's not the right way !

Today, when I was going back home form the Uni, I got a ride from a really friendly retired pilot.

While still working, he was often transporting VIPs.

Once, when he was heading to small airport nearby Paris, to take a plane and fly to pick up Edouard Leclerc, he saw on the Ringroad (at Porte d'Orleans) a hitchhiker with "Nice" sign. He picked him up and they started talking about more or less whatever.

Few moments later the hitchhiker realises:
- Why do you turn out of the highway? Hey, that's not the right way to Nice!

Bubble Bombs Chaos -- Beach

Ben Gurion was the rupture, Tel Aviv the bubble, Sderot the bombs, Samar the kibbutz, Cairo the chaos. Next will be the beach and the plane and the casa next week this time.
