Casa Robino

While Giorgio plays "one" by U2, I will write this story about today.

Got up late, all of us, it was stupidly hot, like 32 during the afternoon.
After working in the house for a while, on my way back from the postoffice, walking with anarcho by my side (chain came off, the hardest one to put back on in this town!) Two girls are hanging out on Admiral de Ruijtberg, by the bakerij. As I come by they ask me if I know a "concrete" nearby... I look down to the burning-hot sidewalk and ask them where they need to go. They act like I couldn't really help them, but I insisted. And then they asked one more tome for the "concrete."
Suddenly I notice an accordion and proceed:
-where are you from?
-France
-Are you the friends of Roy?
-No, we were invited to this dinner by a guy who plays flute with his nose.
(note: that is Roy)

So I showed them the way to the house, got them some bikes and we all went dumpsterdiving.
We got more bananas than I had ever seen in this house, and all perfect.
Before I could even think about converting them into jam, the french girls went ahead and made a chocolate-banana cake.
Some ingredients they insisted in asking the neighbours for. Neighbours meaning people who live at least 200 mts from casa. One of them loved the unusual situation and joined us for a while, later on. I invited him for next week, but apparently he is a busy man with a family... Maybe the first one to step in this house (?)

The dinner was a success. I cooked some salsa, Mark cooked some falafel, Moises a kuskus, Kasper made some salad, Roy took care of some complex vegetables.

We had some other last minute unexpected visitors during dinner. Some of them will be hosting for the night.

So, we are celebrating the 789, the casa way.

For all of you who do not know: I am trying to go and study in Rotterdam instead of here. The choice of schools I still have it, but right now it's the housing and job issues that concern me. the first one seems to be a bit easier to fix than here in Ams.
I do not know how easy it can be to get a job in Rotterdam, not knowing Dutch!
