Finally, the long awaited "scandal" happened today :(

This morning i happily woke up and went into the kitchen to share some coffee with Chris, and there i was shocked by the fact that someone bought meat... there was a half-open package of meat being there besides the sink. After i re-stabilized, i grabbed it and threw it in the bin :) Chris and me were pondering about how and who it came into the house, couldn't reallly tell at that moment and so i decided to ask around later when ppl would be awake...a couple of hours later the answer came to me. Rada standing in the zula, chatting with superman and suddenly begin rambling about meat and exclemating the shocking words...LET'S COOK IT... i felt shocked and amazed by it, since she alrdy lives here for a while and know's about the no-meat guideline. She couldn't find it and began asking around about it, after she asked me i asked her why she brought it in the house and if she forgot the guideline... nicely being answered by "FUCK OFF"...with an energy of "i don't care"...... help....

Damn

I really would have loved to be in the room for that discussion. Robin, I love your point/counterpoint regarding rules etc. For if we were all rule followers, we would likely have never ended up at Casa...and thereby, it is no surprise that a rule, even in a house with such an alternative view on such things, was ignored.

did she do the dishes?

but the question is: did she do the dishes? ;-)

Or in other words. Everything that happens in life gives you a challenge. How do you deal with it? How uptight are you? How do you let it affect you, without letting your own ethical values go?

It's not the end of the world, and it has happened before. Chill.

I think Rada is a rebel in her own way... and this is a nice opportunity to reflect on why things happen for her, you, etc. And why you respond in this way.

Why do people enforce rules anyway?

dunno

she did at some point the dishes.. :)
but what's the point for me is that i get confused how to deal with ppl who clearly dis-respect others in some ways and the way they respond when you ask friendly why...and that's why i posted it here, to get advice how to deal with it, so indeed, im up to quite some challenges...

talking about it normally

In this situation I would actually only ask Rada why she "forgot" (if that's the case) about the guideline being there. And I would ask her she would have responded the same if I would have been there too. So, I would facilitate reflection.

However, I would also have asked you Wrenaqua why you forgot about the guideline to not have public discussions on any website about private life. You would then say what guideline? To which I would say: common sense.

....

I think that conflicts are always there and there is no golden rule on how to deal with them.

We live them, inside ourselves and in relation to others. So it is not a conflict that is the "challenge" but rather how you deal with it when it comes to your attention.

Sometimes I know I respond quickly and negatively. Other times I respond relaxed and take care of my own feelings, the feelings of the other and the situation as a whole.

Bottom line, I make sure I don't get angry, and then think of the best way to get my message across.

And often I do this by explaining how I feel and how I am living this conflict, without pointing my fingers (I try...)

kitten loved it

wren, that was me who you shared the coffee with. hahaha, it wasnt that bad, and kitten did have a taste treat with it.

it is something else though to get awakened by a screaming frantic rada and alice though.

meat is dead and quiet. those who eat it, tend to carry the screams of the animals they eat. you are what you eat!
