15 years 23 weeks agoI've been traveling for the last 9 months. I have hitchhiked most of the countries I've been in so far. I haven't always thought about stuff like trying to lighten my carbon footprint etc. It took seeing beaches choked with garbage in SE Asia and towns covered with haze caused by pollution to really get it on a gut level. In the Garden of the Prophet by Kahlil Gibran he talks about sharing as one hand receiving while the other gives. I'm humbled by how little I know and how curious life is.

I like the idea that I can enjoy a piece of the world if I deserve it, and I can't enjoy it if I don't deserve it. The main (but not only) way to deserve is work. Another way is respect. I am ready to offer what I have to people that don't have it if I think they deserve it.

15 years 25 weeks agoI'm a 23 year-old undergraduate of economics at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, though I'm currently residing in Ashland, Oregon taking classes at Southern Oregon University. I enjoy frisbee - ultimate or just tossing it around, cycling, reading, and have an eclectic taste in music ranging from classic rock to contemporary electronic. I work at a local grocery where I live and enjoy the short, yet meaningful conversations with regulars regarding literature, music, movies, and the arts.

15 years 25 weeks agoI live for connection between humans, in whatever way that may be. Through music, art, conversation, a simple but meaningful glance...I love meeting people from all walks of life, all over the world...There is so much to learn from each and every individual--so much opportunity for growth, so much to be inspired by...I am definitely an adventurous spirit, and love spontaneity. I love being out in nature, seeing and feeling the beauty of this earth. And of course, I love to just kick back with friends and chill with some beer and some music and laughter all around. I would say that the moments I feel most alive are when I am surrounded by friends.
Right now, I am living in Vienna as an au pair, and WAS pursuing a life as an opera singer, until my journey over the past year inspired me to take a different, more organic direction with my music (life brings about beautiful changes in the most beautiful ways!). I want to spread the gift of music throughout the world, teaching and sharing its power with people for whom it is out of reach, due to social and financial limitations. I am not quite sure how that will manifest, but I am learning more about myself and what is most important to me, and growing more everyday. I am still so young, and there is a whole world out there, so Im taking it one day at a time :) Going with the flow...
