i was researching different ways of making soaps, since this is one of the things on the list of cool things i could make for house and give a workshop on. i've made soap several times before, usually coconut-based. this time, i was thinking more savon de marseille or savon de aleppo.

instead, i found a link for making you own laundry detergent, and recalled the days in france and maroc when i used the afore-mentioned soaps to wash my clothing; this recipe would have helped stretch them out a lot longer.
