Maarten and i are upset at not being able to get visas for pakistan, its a pitty but thats the way it is.
so we must find other ways to get around the country and get to india. goin to central asia is one option but the visas are very expensive (im poor) and its just about winter so cycling over them mountains wont be too easy if its even possible at all.
so we have chosen to go south. we can take a cheap boat to dubai no problem and have friends to stay with there, then we will cycle to oman.
the problem is in getting to india without taking a plane. i never want to step foot in a plane ever again.
there are no ferries to india from either oman or U.A.E , so we are looking into any other possible option. even a shady smugglers boat is fine.
we have been searching for many days online to find info about getting there by sea...all we could find are small cargo boats called dhow's on which some travelers have been able to find rides...a bit more costly then the 60euor flight from dubai bu at least i dont have to fly.
but this info about the dhow is just from people on travel forums...no real facts.
does anyone know anyone that might know something or someone to help us cross that bit of water??
any info at all will help!

a 100ft charter boat thing that does 1-3 day trips around Oman and UAE... they might cross over too?
Most folks seem to be heading the other direction this time of year, up the suez, OR they are already in Malaysia/indonesia. But there's always a few out there who aren't with the crowd, so id say just keep a good eye on those online websites: findacrew.net 7knots.com etc... and see what you can find. There's got to be someone doing it, surely. Or you could do the ol' go to marinas in oman and ask away. That could take a lot of time and it will probably get harder before it gets better, lots of knock-backs etc... then again, you could find just what you're looking for!
Either way, SO much respect to you for not wanting to fly, whatever your reasons. There are very few people who actually make a conscious decision not to partake in the aviation industry, as it is such a way of life in this society, and it's not an easy thing to avoid - so respect, love and luck to you on your journey!
also i wrote a post on here some time ago, about looking for sailing jobs etc...
i know it might not totally apply to you - since you're just looking for a smaller hop - but i would still recommend checking out those websites and channels, you never know :)
