Hitchhiking race for drinking water 2010

Hey and Howdi Casa!
I would like to share a project with all you guys on which me and some friends have been working on for the last three years constantly.
Since 2008 we're organizing a hitchhiking race for a drinkwater organisation called Viva con Agua from Hamburg. In 2008 and 2009 the destinations have been Zaragoza and Dubrovnik, this year the route will lead us to Vama Veche in Romania!
In total we're planning with 75 participants, up to 35 teams and will have three different routes, going through austria, czech republic, hungary, a small part of serbia and romania. The whole race is divided into stages, so people will meet each other every two days in a different city, share stories and enjoy the time.

There are different goals of the race.

  • raise awareness to the worldwide lack of drinking water
  • promote the art of hitchhiking and give people a good reason to hitch the first time
  • raise donation money to fund drinkwarer projects in certain places worldwide

We're starting the 23rd August in Hamburg, then moving slowly down to romania and plan to be in Vama Veche around the 8th/9th September! =)

I would love to see all of you people on the race, participating in a nice project and meet a lot of nice and lovely people! =)

Check our website: http://www.tramprennen.org and yeah, get all the needed information there! :)

for last year we made a 23 minutes documentary, giving a simple camera every stage to another team, this is what happenend: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/tramprennen#hp-h-9

Hope to see ya soon!
If i'll be able to make it to the 6-8-10, in Portugal or Barcelona, if not: hopefully on the hitchhike race!

The Love, The Peace and The Happiness, flying from Kiel to Amsterdam!
