Marie Core Dizon

I am a Masters Degree student taking up Linguistics. My undergraduate course was Comparative Literature. Instead of becoming a writer, which to me is more of a long-time career rather than an effective bread-and-butter at the present, I pursued my studies in Language. I am learning Japanese and Chinese right now. I am planning to go to Japan for a year to learn the language properly and to take the level 1 proficiency exam. Then, I will teach the Japanese after graduation.

My source of income right now is essay writing and translating for a local publisher. It is enough to support my studies. Aside from that, I give English language tutorials to Chinese and Japanese children here in the United States.

My greatest joy in life is being able to travel and share my experiences through my writing and photography. I also love many things Japanese, especially sushi, costume playing, and the culture. My greatest influence is the Japanese manga, which I am extremely fond of.
