Social media changes our way of communicating, but for better or worse?

Zeynep Tufecki writes on his blog "Technosociology": "What we are seeing with social media is the public sphere, hitherto dominated by written culture, has been more opened up to oral psychodynamics."

This is a very interesting observation, and indeed it seems that the social media, Twitter and all, is more akin to oral communications than written. Also, it depends on the language used, since some western languages (especially English) are very much patterned into written psychodynamics. As Casa users are also heavy users of social media, this change in trends affects us strongly, and possibly also decreases the "competitive advantage" of well-versed (in written form) persons over the less educated persons.
