Music for today: The Beatles - Drive My Car
After some sweet lifts I eventually made it to Montréal around midnight. Of course I was completely unprepared so I had to find an open wifi to download Gabrielle's directions to La Pologne and the let Ovi Maps calculate the way to the place. I was already walking for an hour, finding muesli on the way after getting hungry, when a francophone guy on a bike noticed the Washburn looking out of my backpack and invited me over for some beers.
Martin [insert french pronounciation here] is a refreshingly open guy. Although he looked way younger, he's already 39. Working as a painter he mostly lives for music, he even had a small studio and played some really nice Ambient to me that would only need a drummer for hitting the charts. There was a sad side to it too, he basically kept the place because of the studio but was not too happy with his live at the moment. I had a similiar phase at the end of 2006 where music was the one good thing in my life and I know may people went through something like this. For me things turned for the better when I hit the road for my first big hitchhiking trip through Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain.
