Connecting people

Music for today: ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Another Morning Stoner
You would think that with travelling being a major recreational activity for bored rich western people, even amongst the Couchsurfing-esque culture there would be a monstrous varity of hosts and guests. But even amongst monster social networks there are surprisingly small circles. When I was talking about Casa Robino, Gabrielle asked: "So do you know a guy named Bobby?" "Bobby Holley?" "WHAT?" Turned out he had recently stayed at La Pologne for three weeks. Now I should add that I don't know him in person, but it gets even better: Clayton had recommended a place called The Super Happy Awesome House and when I asked Gabrielle about it, it turned out that a good friend of hers that was about to visit us used to live there!
Eventually I got my fair share of surprise when I was telling a 7-8-9 story to Emerson, just to be answered that I must know Reese then. Crazy! Turned out he had stayed at his place, no surpise with Reese's CS status: "last minute calls are my favorite! 218-591-7712". I guess this is the spirit that connects us.
