Music for today: Terranova - Heroes
I was planning to meet a girl I had written to during my couchsearch on BeWelcome but my bike broke at an attempt to pump it up so I spent a good day chilling and doing useful things in La Pologne, followed by an awesome dinner with friends of the house. The horror discovery of the evening was some German red wine that was bottled in Montréal (sorry I took no picture) and sweetened to no end. We fed parts of it to a crazy guy who appeared at our door, tried to sell some car-related thing and, after everyone of the ~10 people declined to have a car (irony, La Pologne is a home of bike activism), demanded three fingers of wine, knocked it back and left.
Anyway, parts of us went to bike race through the city to an illegal rave. Arrived in a mostly caved in hall near a canal, we found masses of people gathered around a fairly quiet sound system. We had fun nonetheless and my multi-tool was very useful in making the place more accessable (or broadening escape routes), which was a good thing as the policed arrived finally, but they just waited for people to leave.
We went on to some urban exploration in an abandoned building next to the railroad. I caused some good french curses as I dried to open a door that seemed to be closed for no reason - other than that there was a guy sleeping behind. Whoops :)
We climped up the roof, hung out on the railway bridge and climped some metal structure next to the railway. My slight acrophobia didn't kick in - if it was for the dark, the alcohol or because I've finally crown up I can't say. It was a good experience and a great evening.
