Cheesy goodness :)

Cheesy goodness :)

We are completely self sufficient in cheese - just by asking for the 'throw away's' at the market at closing time :)

Stranded sick in Montpellier...

Hey Casaists.. Maybe one of you well-travelled people has some suggestions to help me with my problem. I have been travelling non-stop for way too long now, and kind of made a slightly stupid choice to tour with yet another band. So I left my van (also my home, I live in it) between Hamburg and Kiel, in Germany, in a village in the middle of nowhere with pretty much non-existent transportation links, and picked up the band with another van and ended up in La Spezia, Italy. I got really sick in La Spezia, all the tiredness of never giving myself any rest came out all of a sudden.

We have WAY too much organic bread...come and get it!!!

Attention you beautiful people...we have got quite an overload of organic bread at the moment which needs to be used and is REALLY YUMMY!!! Would be awesome if some people could come by the Casa for dinner tomorrow night (or just pop in randomly) to come and take some to spread the love as we can't eat it all and don't want it going to waste.

Much love!!!

Using a Soda Bottle As a Solar Light Source

The video above shows how a man in an impoverished urban area in the Philippines created a solar light to brighten the densely-packed windowless homes that are dark inside even when the sun is shining brightly.

Benefiting From Waste-Based-Society

Last Thursday we took a young journalist from an Amsterdam based newspaper out on a diving tour. It was great fun. But unfortunately she missed the Crème de la Crème and didn't stay for the open dinner.

Find a rough translation of the piece below, and there is also a full-resolution version in Dutch. I will leave the content of article uncommented (I love the way this articles portrays a young journalist mind) but please share your comments or impressions, as I am sure you will have some.

Everything is just fine

I recently came back to Casa without much planning ahead.

It had been almost an year from my last visit. Everything changed and everything stayed the same.

Give-Away Party

The give-away shop around the corner is on the next eviction-wave list of the city, meaning they will not be able to take in our stuff anymore!! (oh no!). There is a party this Sunday from 1500 onwords, and they ask for people with ideas to come by Friday or Saturday afternoon. Help! We need more give-away, not less!

As mad as hell,

We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TV’s while some local newscaster tells us that today we had 15 homocides and sixty three violent crimes as if that is the way things are supposed to be. We know things are bad, worse than bad. They’re crazy. It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy so we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house and slowly the world we’re living in is getting smaller and all we say is please at least leave us alone in our living rooms.
