Learn how to make people-bread: bread made by you, your hands and an oven.

Pasta Madre,
a traveling circus of 2 south-italians spreading the joy of bread around Europe. Traveling with *sourdough for bread*, they extend the sharing of bread day by day with their Pasta Madre (mother sponge) while new sourdough is extended through mixing with the existing one. Through spreading the joy of sourdough bread they create new connections between people and our food cultures.

thursday night dinner in istanbul

A few weeks before ever coming to Istanbul, I got a random e-mail from Mert there, who told me he had seen me dancing in Lily's dumpster-dive documentary, Skipping Waste.

Will Eat For Food ?

This is a nightmare. Check youtube/google/whatever. There are already so many videos and writings concerning this new bill to be passed in the U.S. This one just happened to be short and concise.

If this is the case, then all foods there (and setting the precedent for everywhere?) would be affected. I am still skeptical if regions outside of the Americas would be affected, as Amerika is a fallen and still falling empire...

"I went to the Albert Cuyp today", I said to Kasper when he came by today. "Ah really?", he answered, "so did I, but there was nothing to be found", he continued. I showed him the food in the kitchen, and said: "I guess you arrived just after I did".

Dining and Dancing

As every week, also this Thursday we have an open dinner. We normally are going Dumpster Diving before that time. If you want to get along, please be here around 4, or let us know if you are going to bring food from a market around Amsterdam.

On Saturday, we'll go to Club 8 to dance (theme is love this time), where we'll sneak in before 23.00. We also have a pre-party over at Anu's new place. Get in touch with any of us to know where we'll be.

Just another Thursday

Just another Thursday

Thursday dinners at the casa are just great. This dinner was a massive one, during the random roads week. We had great people coming over, and a very good time. Lots of things got done (although not necessarily the things we had planned in advance), there was a lot of enthusiasm and a great exchange of ideas and projects we all work on. And as usual, the dinner was made out of food we had taken out of the market dumpsters. This time we were with three teams, going to three different markets, bringing back home heaps of food that lasted for six days.

Setting up a food-coop

Somehow many conversation here in Casa Robino lead to local currencies and food cooperatives. So when we were discussing [http://cashwiki.org/en/Madison_Hours local money] and food coops in Madison, [http://casarobino.org/users/louisa-magrics Louisa] (18 yr old, Australia) asked: "what is a food cooperative?".

i won't be here for this week's thursday night dinner, but i hear anu will be making something traditionally finnish. anyway, here's an image of a typical dinner at our place. (hummus, greens, noodles, tomato-avocado salad, etc.)

All i want to know is what came from the dumpster - or friendly merchants giving it away. Paxus
