How did you find out about the Casa?:
Several years ago, a curious young united-statian boy found himself walking through the streets of Bos en Lommer in the late evening. In his notebook were scribbled directions to a very mysterious place. He knew that there had just been a burglary, and wasn't sure if he was even welcome. But he also had a strong feeling that this was somewhere he needed to go.
Why do you want to stay in the Casa?:
He approached the door, double-checked the address, and rang the bell. An Italian girl picked up the phone:
Boy: "um...hi. Is this casa robino?"
Girl: "sometimes"
Boy: "...does robino live here?"
Girl: "sometimes"
Boy: "may I come in?"
Girl: "do you have a password?"
Boy: "umm..no...I don't think so. Maybe I missed it in the IRC channel somewhere? Here...let me take out my computer..."
Girl: "no no, it's ok. you can make your own password."
Boy: "I can make one up?"
Girl: "sometimes"
Boy: "ok... <pause> How about 'helicopter'?"
Girl: "...that's a very boring password. But I guess it is ok. <click>"

You mean to say that I never told you about Casa Robino? Well...

That evening changed this boy's life. Since then, he has told this story, and what came after it, to nearly everyone he's met. He became a different person, empowered with radical initiative. He joined the fray of Project Volunteering. He made quesadillas at casa nostra. He did the dishes at CRIC house. He and a group of friends founded a community based upon the principles of initiative and humility that he learned at the casa. He followed the lightfoot boxes to find casa magic in Toronto and Montreal. He went on adventures with Curious George and Lily. He drank tea on the Free Tea Bus. He went to Buenos Aires and spent the summer preparing to build another casa.
But things change, of course. And now, just for a few days, he's finally coming home.
